The good bits
What we liked
A calm everyday push
The full-size format is reassuring on ordinary pavements and more forgiving when the day includes bags, layers and a sleeping child.
A useful, roomy basket
Storage is one of the reasons to choose a substantial pushchair, and this is the kind of feature that earns its keep on a real outing.
Good attention to the daily mechanics
The fold, handle and seat adjustments aim to reduce the small frictions that build up when a pushchair is used several times a day.
The trade-offs
What we didn’t like
It is a lot of pushchair
A full-size system needs a home. Measure the hall, lift and boot before buying; a premium pushchair that stays in the car because it is awkward is poor value.
Premium price, premium expectations
The Fox 5 has to be used often to justify its cost. Accessories and the exact bundle can push the real spend higher.
Not a substitute for checking fit
A good reputation does not remove the need to follow the current harness, seat, carrycot and sleep-related instructions for the exact setup.
Method
How we tested it
We considered the push on pavements and park paths, fold and lift, basket access, seat and carrycot changes, cleaning, storage and the cost of making the system work day to day. Follow the current manufacturer instructions for harness use, sleeping and supervision.
Testing methodology: Our testing method looks at the parts of family life that the box rarely shows: setup, daily handling, cleaning, storage, repeat use and the cost of keeping the product going. For safety-sensitive products, follow the current manufacturer instructions and relevant safer-sleep or travel guidance.
